Dreams Hope Destiny

This One Day…

Today, i must say i had a rather harsh day. I ponder over the sequence of events that took place – to analyse the day of my life.

It just does not feel good when i have experienced something bad and i try to exhale it out, when alas! it does not leave me alone. I wonder why. why can’t this mind-attacking thought just fly away? and , and yes. I know why. Its only because it had a wonderful lesson to teach me and it does not leave me until i discover it. Yes, that’s absolutely right.

When i look at it now, it was indeed a great day that taught me good lessons for life. And Everything happened so haphazardly as if god wanted me to learn every lesson of life in this 24 hrs duration. Almost every single hour brought me to a test & it had a variety. The situation was so distressing that one of my fellow colleagues – whom i believe is truly my well-wisher, spoke “Sonali, do you do any yoga or meditation? If not, its the time you start. Years down the line it will definitely help you. The situations are teaching you a lesson to be tough, to be brave.Be calm.” spoke the experienced. I felt lucky thankfully that i have such kind seniors around. Privileged!

O boy! why is this happening? i thought. Is life going to attack me with even more worst viruses?.. and Yoga ..me? ha ha..

Well, bleakness apart! 🙂

Yes. such are the days that can come often and you got to be prepared. Definitely, we do not experience such situations at home as the environment is not usually the one that turns you black & blue. At least not in my case. 🙂

As i was reading my management book the other day, i came across a topic stress management. Quite an interesting & useful read for those who feel helpless when the so-called stress attacks hazardously. I, being two-and-a-half years experienced in IT industry… definitely quite junior.. is’nt it? :P, find it a little difficult when it comes to react instantly when one part of my mind says “Hoshiyari isi mein hain ki chup baitho” while the other desperately says “C’mon you can’t just keep quiet. Its the time to act. Rush up quick!!”. This does confuse me many a times and my mental portion keeps wandering into those unsure moments of what to do smartly. How do i hit the nail on the head?

Today, there was something that told me “Life is calling, Destiny is calling. Answer the call in the best possible way you can.” Every single event of a day has a purpose, that itself is a life of life. For yesterday is gone & tomorrow has a new vision of hope. Do derive some time for yourself from your busiest schedule. Analyse where you stand today. Plan your tomorrow. And don’t forget to smile. You’l realize you have had the most ethereal moments…

As Kalidasa says:

Listen to the Exhortation of the Dawn!
Look to this Day!
For it is Life, the very Life of Life.
In its brief course lie all the
Varieties and Realities of your Existence.
The Bliss of Growth,
The Glory of Action,
The Splendor of Beauty;
For Yesterday is but a Dream,
And To-morrow is only a Vision;
But To-day well lived makes
Every Yesterday a Dream of Happiness,
And every Tomorrow a Vision of Hope.
Look well therefore to this Day!
Such is the Salutation of the Dawn!

  1. Good to see you taking positives from that days events. As master Oogway says in “Kung Fu Panda” – Past is history, Future is mystery, that’s why the current moment is called present. Enjoy each moment and keep smiling 😀

  2. I will try to remember the exhortation of the dawn – what an inspiring poem. My husband works in IT – he loves it at times and other times he seems to be pulling his hair out! Hope things are going better for you now…

    • As now its been over 5 years and what I learn is Life in IT has its own waveform, sometimes I love it so, and the other times, its the worst thing.. Well, I enjoy the happy days & learn from the bad days.. Thank you so much Barbara, specially for taking the time to read the old posts. 🙂
