Ultralight flying and some more..

The ultralight flying aircraft that took us flying up at about 3000 feet above the sea level

Once again, I present here yet another amazing expedition carried out by our renowned and eminent group “Kailashing”.  This time it was an ultralight flying adventure at Coorg, Karnataka  and trekking through the Brahmagiri hills – Misty hills,  breathtaking scenic beauty,  lush forest and not to forget, lots of leeches!

The open fields we walked until we reached the flight runway

~Leonardo Da Vinci

Not until very late since we started climbing the Brahmagiri hills with loaded backpacks that the leeches attacked us in big bunches. Howling and jumping and losing our breathe we reached the so-called “Jungle Bungalow” – a real scary one. Spending a night in the place was awful – weird spiders and insects around, creeping leeches, cockroaches, lizards, lot of whining, complaints and what not! Come to think of the whole trip, this was the best part though, being a challenge.

The hills we climbed

Lush green hills

Wondrous!!

~ Rachel Carson

Gushing waters in the deep jungle

A magic, moving, a living part of the earth itself

Aren’t the trip pictures spectacular? This was yet another memorable event that we organized for this year. For anybody interested in ultralight  flying adventures, you can find more information here: http://www.coorgskyadventures.com/

And now its a Christmas season, a season of cakes and candles, songs, celebrations and decorations, love and laughter.  I wish you all a joyous time 🙂

  1. You are a very brave girl, Sonali! I honor you for doing this. Love the photos of the waterfall in jungle…gorgeous. It sounds like a wonderful group that you’re having adventures with.

  2. Thank you so much, Kathy 🙂 The waterfall was much gorgeous then it seems to be in the small pictures. I so loved flying high up in the sky. Some of the wonderful experiences indeed.

  3. I like your new blog theme, Sonali! The flying part of your expedition sounds thrilling, the overnight part sounds creepy beyond belief! Were you alone in the flying craft? I admire your bravery and sense of adventure – what memories you will treasure of flying – do you long to return as Leonardo Da Vinci suggests?

    • Hi Barbara, I was initially quite scared and worried with weird thoughts pricking my mind – what if the flight crashes or the fuel gets over or what if it upturns. wooff! But I’m glad that I brushed my thoughts off and got onto the aircraft & without thinking we took off. Yes, I truly would love to go back there high up in the blue sky. The whole universe seems amazingly beautiful! The organizers have mentioned they also have cross country flights but I’m finding them expensive. I really can’t afford right now. May be in future I get an opportunity to fly across the countries 😉 *dreaming*

Thanks for your comment Barbara, I hope you’re having a great December! 🙂

  4. Sonali, you amaze me ! A brave girl indeed and one who knows that the Earth seen from above is an experience never to be forgotten. Especially in such an ultralight flying aircraft ! Those lush green hills are magnificent. Are there plantations over there, like tea for instance, or is it too high ? Thanks for taking us with you on this great adventurous trip.

    • Hi Isa, I forgot to mention about the coffee estate that we viewed from up above. We had microphones using which we could communicate with the pilot who explained to us about the estates and stuff like that. It was simply amazing! The ultralight aircraft was a cute little flyer that took us so high up at the chilling cold altitude – a breathtaking experience.
Thanks for your comment Isa, I wish you a wonderful holiday time 🙂

  5. I love the efforts you have put in this, thank you for all the great content.

  6. I was just looking for this information for a while. After six hours of continuous Googleing, at last I got it in your website. I wonder what is the lack of Google strategy that do not rank this type of informative web sites in top of the list. Usually the top web sites are full of garbage.
