Love All Around

Dear Readers,

Thank you very much for your good wishes. I am feeling so much better and definitely recovering much faster.

Pandan Cake

Pandan Cake

A light, very fluffy and delicious pandan cake from Singapore – Malay origin, is what I received on the 1st of the month of cakes & cookies. Do you know what’s pandan? These are specific leaves from a tropical plant Pandanus amaryllifolius used as a flavoring agent. Pandan leaves extract is also used to make kaya jam and many other delicious recipes.

Well, I must mention to you about the wonderful colleagues across countries whom I work with. If you remember my post from July about Singapore trip was the time when I met the folks based there. Since then, there has been an added flavor to my work. Even though we are all based in different countries, there’s so much that we learn from each other while we work and there’s so much of understanding, professionalism, support, care & definitely fun!

The month of October was a time for healing for me and I was away from the office for a while. I missed the remote connection with my colleagues. I missed the “Good Morning..” buzz that’s usually there before I even log-in to my system. I missed the Chinese voices.

Do you know how it feels when you miss some people so dearly and then you come to know that they missed you too; equally…

The cake above was sent to me by my SG colleagues.  I think its the most wonderful cake in the world! It means so much to me…

They also packed for me two bottles of Kaya Jam – they remembered how I relished the Kaya toast while I was in SG and thus they sent some for me to India.

Authentic Ya Kun kaya is the one – don’t forget to try this one if you ever fly to SG. Its super delicious!

Not just this, they also sent for me the traditional Chinese medicine well-famous from Eu Yan Sang pharmacy. The one they brought for me is “Essence of fish with American Ginseng and Cordyceps extract”. Its mainly to boost the immunity levels and regain strength. You may look it up, perhaps it helps you too.

There are some chocolates parceled too!

This was in Clark Quay, Singapore. They definitely are a fun bunch!

How come? How come I’m so lucky? ha ha..!! Love is all around!!

  1. The cake looks delicious–what a lovely shade. How wonderful that you have colleagues who are friends. The best kind of co-workers. (I have some of those, too.) Many blessings this holiday season.

    • You are right, Kathy. The cake was indeed very delicious & I liked its shade too. Its amazing how different recipes add color & flavor to the food. Blessings to you too darling!

      • Sonali, I had no idea you were not well, but it sounds like you are doing much better now. Wishing you good health!

I do know that feeling, coming to know that someone missed me as much as I missed them. It’s such a warm and wonderful feeling. It must be a blessing, too, to have co-workers who are such good friends.

      • Dear Barbara, you are right. I am doing much better. After all life is far too interesting that the slide downs are soon lost in the past. Thank you.. And I’m glad to know that you also experienced the same wonderful warm feeling when someone missed you so dearly..
